Being Bipolar: Writing a book and funerals
I’m thinking of writing a book about my life. Actually, I have been thinking about doing this for several years now.
There are several problems with this. The first problem would be that most people would never believe half of it. Many years of my life were wilder than any soap opera you have ever seen. I guess I am willing to take that chance, though. I know it’s true even if no one else does. The second problem is that I have no idea where to begin. I don’t want to spend endless hours typing it out only to have to reformat it later on down the line.
I’m hoping that someone who reads my blog has an answer to my second issue. Is there a certain way it should be written out so it is ready to send to a publisher? Is there any special software you use or do you simply use a word processor? Has anyone done an e-book and how successful was that?
I am sure some of my readers have great advice to offer and I am eager to hear it!
On another note, I will be attending my cousin’s funeral today. I wanted to point out something odd that came to my attention yesterday. On Sunday afternoon around 1:30 PM, I felt like someone had shoved me hard enough in the chest to knock the wind out of me. It stunned me for a moment, but then I remembered where I was at that exact moment one year before – at my father’s graveside while he was being buried. It was assumed that my cousin died on Monday until the autopsy came back. She actually died on Sunday, quite possibly around that same time. Isn’t that odd? Not just the odd feeling of being hit in the chest, but that she passed away one year to the day that my father was buried.

Heart-felt condolences!
Regarding the book, I can’t give advice but I would certainly like to know more about you - so I’ll buy it for sure. And I’m sure there are lots more people like me around here. So, keep us posted.
Doesn’t sound so odd… Thinking a biography is great. I’d love to read yours. Do you have a 2nd today.com blog yet? A suggestion: Maybe add entries to this novel/biography in it? I do know of some publishers, but don’t publish them in (public). My suggestion, for what it’s worth, is the “Weekend Novelist” A dynamic 52-week program to help you produce a finished novel… one weekend at a time. By Robert J. Ray. The edition I carry is 1994. Cheers.
I have enjoyed reading about you. My niece is bi-polar. She is 20, and I have always wanted to know more about it. My brother has a really difficult time with her. I think it would be great for you to write a book.
Thanks for all the support and good ideas! I am going to keep researching and hopefully will start work on it soon.
