Being Bipolar: Increase awareness of bipolar awareness month!
I have tons of things to take care of in preparation for Being Bipolar Awareness Month. I would like to thank those of you who have volunteered to help by completing the questionnaire and agreeing to host the banner. It is truly appreciated! You are doing a great thing by helping to spread awareness and reduce the stigma.
Ideally, I will have one person’s experience to share each day in February. I need people who have bipolar disorder and people who care for someone with bipolar disorder. If you would be willing to fill out a brief questionnaire and share your experiences, please email me at beingbipolar@writersbeacon.com . You do not have to answer any question that makes you uncomfortable and you can use a pen name or be anonymous.
In order to get enough people to cover the entire month, I need your help. I will be making a banner today to ask for participants. If you would be willing to host a banner until February 1st, please email me and I will send it to you as soon as possible. All blogs and websites participating in any way will be listed on the Awareness Month page.
I also wanted to clear up some confusion. Some were under the assumption that October was Bipolar Awareness Month. It is actually Mental Health Awareness Month. One day during October is Bipolar Awareness Day. That’s not enough. We cannot accomplish our goals in just one day a year. Don’t you agree?
Let’s make this as big as possible! Thanks for all of your help!

Yes I’m reading this and saying I thought you might have the month mixed up…. I know normally October 6-9 is bipolar day…. But for long as I can remember May has always been Bipolar Awareness Month… But with a little research I found out the May is really “Mental Health Month 01 - 31 May 2009″ established by the Mental Health America Org - www.nmha.org.
But I was not able to verify February ad BP Month ( http://www.countmeincalendar.info/show_calendars.php?band_color=00CC99&calid=11&banner_area=3&sel_day=&orange_box=0&choose_month=2009-2 ).

What ever the case, let me know what i can do to help.
Chato, I am so glad to have you in! Currently, there is not a Bipolar Awareness Month. I am hoping to establish the month of February as the official BP month. I am hoping that together we can all garner enough support to do so. Thanks so much for your support! Hopefully I will have the banner for Bipolar Awareness Month done within the next few days.

Good on you!
I’ll help. I’ll host your banner and fill out a questionnaire. I am not bipolar, but have a dear friend who is.
