Being Bipolar: AC/DC, Casinos, Beale, Super Bowl and Bipolar Awareness
Don’t forget! Today is the first day of Bipolar Awareness Month. Read the post below to see what is going on.
It’s also a busy day and I have a lot to talk about. I’ll be watching the Super Bowl today. I’m not really rooting for either team but I am sure all of you have a favorite picked out. Who’s your team?
As all of you know, I went to the AC/DC concert Friday night. We also walked down Beale for a bit and went in Coyote Ugly and Silky O’Sullivan’s. I had a good time, which surprised me. I also had a bad time. I know that doesn’t make much sense so I will explain. Around the third or fourth song, I was standing up. We were in the nose bleed section on a sharp incline. I’m wrapped up in what’s happening on the stage when all of a sudden I’m being pushed to the floor. My legs scraped across the top of the seats and I just knew I was going to hit the concrete floor. I stopped abruptly and it was obvious that someone had grabbed me. My husband and our friend both had grabbed me and that saved me from tumbling further. I try to get up but it’s obvious I am still pinned down. I finally wriggled free (with some help) and find a very intoxicated woman that was twice my size had fell into my seat. Security came and took her away. I ended up with a large scrape on my left leg that bled for two hours before I got it to stop. My right leg has two large black bruises. I am sore today from all of it. I sat down for a long time after that. I was shaking and afraid of falling again. I still had a good time, but I am feeling it now.
Friday night and most of Saturday was spent in Tunica, Mississippi. We stayed at Fitzgerald’s Casino and I was up until 2 AM. I hit for $36 on the slot machines that night. For a penny machine, that’s pretty good. (I’m too cheap to play anything more than nickel slots.) We also went to Hollywood and Resorts. We played the next day until about 3 AM and then headed home.
I had a great weekend. I needed it. Now I just have to recover from having too much fun.

Thanks, Lola! It was fun up until that point. It took me awhile to shake it off, but I didn’t let it ruin my night. The cannons were killer. I can only imagine how loud they would have been in the third row.
So sorry about your accident. I really wish they would ban alcohol at concerts. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a concert. So I revel in your good experience.
